The Blue Devil Power Drive team traveled to Motorsports Park Hastings in Hastings NE on Saturday April 12th to compete in the second event of the 2025 EVERON Power Drive season on a one mile road course. Strong winds and tough competition were in order for the day.
The A107 started the race in second place, tailing and matching lap times with the leader. Just before the 20 minute mark Allan Brenner took the lead in Advanced class and began pulling away from second place. At the halfway point of the race the A107 came in for a driver's exchange pit stop where Wyatt Hawkins replaced Brenner. With the fastest pit stop of the day, the Blue Devils were back on the track and extending their lead. The A107 finished the race in first place with 25 laps. This is the second race win this season for the A107.
In Exhibition class the E39 driven by Josh Doring took an early lead, and the E22 driven by Mason Blickenstaff tailed the leaders in fourth. At the halfway point of the race the Blue Devils were in the same position in scoring, but the E22 had fallen back, being one lap down to the E39. With 12 minutes to go, racing positions began to change. The E22 began to erase the gap, clicking off the fastest times late in the rally, moving to third place, while the E39 battled to maintain the lead. With 8 minutes left in the rally the E39 was passed by Friend E12 putting the Blue Devils in second and third. But the E22 still had more to prove and continued to chip away at the leaders and passed for second place on the final lap. E22 finished in second place with 32 laps, and the E39 finished in third place with 32 laps.
"The end of this race was exciting to watch, with different strategies coming into play. The strong wind was something we had to contend with, and we spent a lot of time this week discussing how we would gear for this race." - Tony Cantrell - Head Coach
