Norfolk Classic Results

Wayne High Track & Field Competes at Norfolk Classic

The Wayne High Blue Devils Track & Field team traveled to Norfolk Thursday evening to compete in the Norfolk Classic, with several athletes turning in notable performances across multiple events.

On the girls' side, Tayla Hurner led the way with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:24) and a second-place finish in the 1600-meter run (5:23). Addison Frank earned a third-place medal in pole vault with a height of 9-04, while Elle Powicki took fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (:15.65). Nyla Bolles also competed in the 300-meter hurdles, finishing seventh (:48.69). The girls' 4x800 relay team — comprised of Tayla Hurner, Alivia Kesting, Lilyan Hurner, and Elizabeth Hix — finished fifth with a time of 10:14. Alivia Kesting also placed seventh in the 800-meter run (2:27), and Lilyan Hurner and Elizabeth Hix placed 11th and 7th, respectively, in the 3200-meter run.

On the boys' side, Drew Miller, Emmanuel Gonzalez, Thomas Raymundo Bacillo, and Camden Hall competed in the 4x800 relay, finishing fifth with a time of 8:48.

Wayne High Track & Field returns to action this Saturday, hosting the Midstates Conference Meet at Wayne High School. Community members are encouraged to come out and support the Blue Devils.
